What I'm Loving Wednesday

Yes, I've been a bad blogger...life has been uber busy (when is it not??) Lots of stuff happening at school & home and just not enough time to blog :(

We've had some unseasonably warm weather up here in New England for the past few days - tomorrow is supposed to be in the 80s! Love it!

Ok, so onto today's topic. Here are some things I'm loving today!

John Freida Clear Shine Luminous Glaze

I'm pretty sure my friend Holly has blogged about this stuff before. Every time I see it in a store, I immediately think of the rave reviews she gave it. Well, it was onsale at Ulta few weeks ago so I snagged a bottle and have tried it twice.

This stuff is amazing! It doesn't weigh down my hair, it makes blow drying/straightening SO much easier and it helps to brighten my blonde highlights too. I've only tried it in the shower on wet hair, but it says you can use it on dry hair (before you shower) as well.

Essie's "Go Overboard" is what I'm wearing on my nails today. It's definitely a little more blue than the picture above. A really fun blue-teal color!

Love my Camelbak! I have it in the purple shown and it really has helped me drink more water (as the sticker says on the side!) I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the straw contraption, but after the first couple of sips, I was hooked! So much more convenient than having to unscrew the whole cap to take a drink.

I've been in love with this salad dressing for almost 2 years now and as soon as the weather starts to warm up, I bust out a bottle for my salads because it's such a refreshing taste! I've also had their ranch dressing which is pretty tasty!

Ok, that's it for today - gotta ease back into this whole blog thing :)

New Year, New Resolutions

And one of them is to update this blog more often!!!

Ugh, between the holidays and a relaxing vacation, I just had no desire to blog..

Here's what's on my mind today:

- I love our new sectional! We bought it over vacation and it just makes the room feel so much more inviting!

It was delivered on my husband's birthday, so of course I had to take a picture of him lounging on it :)

-I've been watching "The Wonder Years" on Netflix and I'm on the last season - so sad for it to end :( Such a great show - I never watched it back in the day because I was a little too young to get all the subject matter

- I was at Ulta over vacation and picked up this new cleanser and I love it!!

I was using Proactiv for the past month, but it's just not cutting it for me, so on a whim I picked up this Enzyme Cleansing Gel (the trial size for $7). You only need a little bit for it to work, so I'm hoping this bottle will last me a long time. The scent is very fresh, too.

- I'm also loving the latest Essie color I picked up:

Note: That is not my hand!
It's called Master Plan and it's a really nice, cool grey - perfect for winter!

Ok, that's it for now - here's a cute picture of my dog - I can't believe he's almost 8 months old!!

What I'm Loving Wednesdays!

So many things to love on this 2nd to last day of June!!

  • First off: I am soooo happy to be on vacation!!! Technically my last day was Thursday,  but I went into school on Friday and Monday to pack up my classroom (I'm moving to 2 new schools in my district so I can finally be full-time!!) It was glorious to be able to sleep in past 7 AM yesterday morning! Some of my days this summer will be jam packed, but I'm especially looking forward to the days where I wake up and my first thoughts are "Hmm, what will I do today?"
  • Now that the warm weather is here, I'm not always reaching for my hair dryer/straightener after I hop out of the shower. Instead, I'm letting my hair go its natural wavy route, with the help of a few amazing products:

I used this stuff a few years ago but completely forgot about it til a few weeks ago when I was in CVS and spotted it on the shelf. After towel drying my hair, I'll comb through it, throw in some anti-frizz serum (see below) and then use this pomade, working through the ends first and then upwards towards the roots. Then I use the diffuser attachment on my hair dryer (ok, so I guess I DO use my dryer, even when it's hot out!) so I don't mess up the waves. This pomade is very light and doesn't gunk up my hair. Because it's a creme and not a wax it's very manageable too. I've used waxes before and always had a hard time getting the product out of the container!

The anti-frizz serum I use (same company that makes the Argan oil I use too!)
  • The 4th of July seems RIGHT around the corner!! It's one of my favorite holidays and this will be the 2nd year in a row that my band is the headliner at a huge celebration (actually held on the 3rd) right on the beach with an enormous crowd! So of course I've been trying to plan my outfit for the past week or so and I'm totally stuck on what to wear. I do know I'll be sporting Essie's Mesmerize:

Here are a couple of picture's from last year's gig (Look how short my hair was!!)

I'm thinking maybe I'll try to find either red shorts or a red top to wear. Or maybe a fun patriotic-looking dress? Decisions, decisions!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Target Tuesday

Haven't done this link up in awhile but I did just recently get some good buys at Tar-jay!

Originally $40, snagged it for $10 from the clearance rack!

Mochachino - a fun sparkly taupe

And a few things I'm going to look for the next time I'm there:

Dora Refined Denim Dress - Chesterfield Navy
I actually bought this last year for a wedding and then returned it because I found a dress I liked better. I'm glad it's back because I think it's a great "staple" to have

And I could pair it with these:
Mossimo Wakana Strappy Wedge Sandals

Link up at Tara's blog to play along with Target Tuesday!

What I'm Loving Wednesdays!

Almost forgot it's Wednesday!!! I cannot wait for this week (and my cold) to end!!

Here's what I'm loving today:

The Summer 2011 Collection from Essie. It's not out til June, but the colors look amazing!!! I think the "braziliant" could be a fun color, especially with a tan!! Not sure about "absolutely shore" (pun very much intended!) I can't wait to see these in person and pick up a couple to test out!

Only 21 days left of school, not counting weekends, Fridays (I only work M-Th), holidays, or my final personal day. Just gotta get through a few concerts, 5th grade graduation, and other end-of-the-year commitments.

Friday night is game night with some of my best gals - Scribblish and Taboo are our 2 favorites to play! I had never heard of Scribblish til I played it a few months back with these same ladies, and let me tell you, if you've never played it, you're missing out! It's like the old-school game "Telephone" but with drawing. None of us are stellar artists, and I think that's part of why it's so fun - we were literally dying laughing from some of the pictures drawn.  We've been playing Taboo since college and it's probably the one game I get super excited/competitive about. I don't know what I enjoy better - trying to guess the words or trying to give clues about the words.  Either way, when a "Taboo night" is in my future, I know it's gonna be a good time all around!!

I'm so glad we have Netflix!! Their selection has improved over the years and they have a ton of stuff you can watch instantly.  I'm always excited when the post new releases and I like the little "suggestions for you" feature they have too. It helps that they are pretty quick with shipping out discs too, altho, most of what I watch is available instantly.

What I'm Loving Wednesdays!

I can't believe it's already Wednesday! I feel like this week is flying by! Anyone else feeling the same way??

I mentioned this on Monday, but I am still loving my current read, "Something Borrowed." I am thisclose to finishing it and I cannot wait to pick up more of Emily Griffin's books!! I can't wait to see the movie on Friday with some of my favorite ladies. I am a big John Krasinski/Ginnifer Goodwin fan, too!

I blogged about my Ulta haul several weeks ago and never got around to reviewing this guy:

It's Essie's Naturally Clean nail polish remover

It doesn't have that typical, gross nail polish remover smell..in fact it has a really nice, light scent and I actually enjoying removing my nail polish now! It nourishes your nails, and makes them look really healthy, not stripped.  And a little goes a long way! I find that I can soak one cotton ball/pad with this and use it for at least one hand, if not half of another! With other removers I sometimes had to go thru 3 cotton balls, especially if I was removing a dark color.

And of course I'm loving my Naked Palette from UD. It's so fun to mix and match the colors and get different looks! My go to makeup blog is Makeup by TiffanyD and she has several tutorials on how to use the palette to get the most out of it!

Movie Mondays...and more!

Ok, well I haven't watched a movie in the last week, but I did start to read "Something Borrowed" by Emily Griffin because I'm planning to see the movie when it comes out on Friday! I hate when I go see a movie/watch a movie and haven't read the book first...which is not to say that that hasn't happened to me numerous times, but I had heard such great reviews on this book, I figured it would be a quick read (and a good one at that!)

I haven't done any reading for pleasure lately, and I have to say, this book has me captivated!! It's been so nice to lounge on the couch this weekend (in between our weekend obligations) and just read! I'm about halfway thru (started reading on Saturday) and I can't wait to read more during my free time today at school!

And just for fun, because it's Monday, and Mondays tend to be blahhh:

Nail polish: Pixy Stix by Orly (love the name!) It's a coral-y pink color - perfect for May!
Ring: Ann Taylor Loft

My latest obsession...it is absolutely divine! Money well spent!!

I had a 20% off coupon for ULTA so I snatched up this raved-about product too (also by Urban Decay)

It's their Primer Potion in Sin, a shimmery champagne color which can be used as a base or alone. I tried it out today and loved it!

Happy Monday, y'all!!

Thursday's colors

Turquoise & Caicos by Essie on my nails:

And orange-y red, in the form a beautiful tulip (popped up overnight!):
